The value of women’s work, both paid and unpaid, has never been more apparent than during the pandemic. The majority now work outside the home, but that doesn’t free them from their unpaid roles as caregivers, homemakers and community volunteers. We photographed bad-ass females for The New York Times, exploring what it’s like to work the second shift.
