Every time I photograph at Catlin Gabel School, I have hope for the future. An independent k-12 school located in Portland, I first spent time there doing a feature about schools for Portland Monthly and just fell in love with their campus and the vibe.
Christopher and I ended up getting asked back to do series of promotional images that ended up in their magazine, the Caller, and for a couple of advertisements they have coming out.
I'm not sure if it is something in the water but the students there are truly a good looking bunch, in a very wholesome kind of way. It is the way they hold themselves, always so polite, so positive, but also so self-possessed. It's all very Wonder Years/Boy Meets World. A few tear sheets and images of these paragons of childhood can be seen below.
